Foods are coming in bigger and bigger sizes. Take the common Snickers bar. Of course a healthy individual won’t make a meal out of a Snickers bar, but it’s okay to have on a treat yourself day. Where this innocent looking candy bar gets us in trouble is with its size. Take the small “Fun Size” Snickers that is common around Halloween. It only have 72 calories and 1.3 grams of saturated fat. It tastes great and can really satisfy your sweet tooth. Now take the “King Size” bar you’ll usually see at a convenience store. It balloons up to 541 calories and 10.2 grams of saturated fat. That’s 50% of your total recommended daily saturated fat allowance!
Next time, go for the Fun Size and you really will enjoy yourself instead of sabotaging your fitness goals!
