FAQ: How should a school handle Exit Interviews?
Here is another question that we hear often. We found the answer to this in DL Handbook for Schools:
Question: How should a school handle Exit Interviews?
Answer: If the student completes exit counseling at the school, the school must ensure that the borrower’s personal and contact information is submitted to the Direct Loan Servicing Center within 60 days after the student borrower provides the information.
If the student completed exit counseling on the Direct Loan Servicing Web site, then the school will receive an electronic report through their SAIG mailbox confirming that the student completed counseling. Be sure to retain these reports for at least 3 years after the end of the last award year that the student attended your school.
