Mother’s Day

I asked my mom what I could give her for Mother’s Day this year. She said, in her usual fashion, that she just wanted family time and hugs. There was nothing more she wanted or needed.
There is no advice in the world like a mother’s advice. Whether we want to hear it or not, the advice lies there waiting for us, ready to wrap us in the warmth of constant love or remind us of our foolish, foolish ways. My mom has taught me everything from how to walk, tie my shoes, bait a hook, respectfully speak my mind, enjoy reading, paint a wall, drive a stick shift, cook a meal, and how to be a gentleman.
The list could go on and on. She still has many lessons to teach me, I am sure. And I am grateful. I wish a Happy Mother’s Day to all the women around the world that love their children well.
Thanks Mom!
Love,
Jim
P.S. Can we come over for dinner Tuesday night?
