Indiana University – Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) Honored for Innovation and Efficiency
Recently, I met with Judy Cramer. If you don’t know Judy, you will find her to be someone who is always thinking of ways to improve her office processes and better serve students. She was proud to tell me about a service they implemented last summer to help students and enable her staff to actually work on assisting students versus being on the phone.
So, what is this service she helped implement? The school supported creating a summer call center staffed by students who were familiar with the ins and outs at IPFW. Working with other departments, she found this service didn’t have to be costly…everyone pitched in adding to training materials, providing computers, etc…
With this successful endeavor, IPFW is among the Spring 2011 Honorees in University Business magazine’s “Models of Efficiency”.
