Borrower Experience: Email Confirmations for Deferment/Forbearance Requests

We’ve heard a lot of feedback from borrowers that they wished we would send them a confirmation when they submit their Deferment/Forbearance requests. Nelnet is excited to announce another great addition to our improved communications with our borrowers!

Nelnet’s Enrollment Processing has created a three piece e-mail campaign to keep borrowers informed of the status of their deferment and forbearance requests. A pilot group of borrowers started receiving this correspondence on May 1st.  Soon, all borrowers will receive the same e-mail campaign as they progress through the following steps:

  1. When the request has been received

      2. When the request has been approved

3. When the request has been denied

The goal of the campaign is to continue to find ways to reach our borrowers and keep them informed of any action taken on their account.
