The FDIC provides numerous consumer resources on their website, www.fdic.gov. One is a Quick Guide for Consumers on Credit, Debit, and Prepaid Cards. This guide help consumers who routinely use cards to pay for goods and services understand the differences in how these cards work and the applicable consumer protections. Consumers widely use credit, debit, and prepaid cards to pay for goods and services, but there are significant differences between these cards in how they work and the consumer protections provided for each card.

You can also sign up for FDIC Consumer News. The FDIC’s quarterly publication for consumers offers information and tips on credit cards, bank accounts, loans, scams, money management, and much more.  Consumers can also listen to articles anywhere, anytime online or by downloading to an MP3 player.
