Raina received a Special Achievement Award for her contributions to the association as co-chair of the Donor Support Committee. Along with her co-chair, Ryan Rafko, who also received a Special Achievement Award for this committee, they worked to increase donor support to the association for the 2012-13 year as well as identify a charitable organization for the association to support financially.

Anne was the recipient of two awards from MSFAA! She received the President’s Award for 2012-13. Patricia Chaplin, Past President of MSFAA, said she was recognizing Anne not only for the support she provided during the past year, but for all of Anne’s tireless help she has provided to every President she has served. Anne served as co-chair for MSFAA’s 45th Anniversary Celebration. She also stepped in to assist with the winter conference when one of the two program co-chairs resigned.

Anne also received the Lifetime Achievement Award for 2012. The following is an excerpt from Patricia Chaplin’s remarks to recognize Anne.

“She has been associated with the financial aid profession for over 40 years in the capacities of financial aid management, consultant, lender (and servicer) representative.  And in that time and through all those years, she has made continuous and significant contributions to the profession at both the state and regional levels by serving as an elected official, appointed chair and co-chair, and volunteer member for both MSFAA and MASFAA.  She also served as V.P. for Independent Colleges and Universities of Michigan where she advocated for financial aid for Private Michigan Colleges and Universities.

Many of us have known this individual as a trusted and knowledgeable colleague since the beginnings of MSFAA in 1967.  Many have worked with her as a MSFAA Board member, past President, MASFAA committee chair, Financial Aid Officers, Assistant and Associate Directors, and Directors of Financial Aid, on MSFAA committees as a member and chair, and numerous projects too many to list.  She has always been an example to our profession of high integrity and strength of character in any and all of her dealings with her colleagues.  Many of us have often been inspired by her leadership which is always respectful, caring, and relevant to the situation.  She has always encouraged others to be involved, to participate, and to be active in this profession and the organizations we represent. And she has always shown her support of the goals and objectives of MSFAA and MASFAA in her continued and sustained involvement in both organizations.”

Congratulations Anne and Raina on your achievements with the Michigan Student Financial Aid Association!
