Income Driven Repayment Plans (June 5)

There are several repayment options available to student borrowers.  However, unlike other options, income related repayment plans necessitate more understanding of specific requirements and other constraints.  This session will delve to IBR, ICR and the new Pay as You Earn repayment plan– who can qualify, how to qualify, etc. and provide you with the knowledge necessary to assist your students.

This session is designed to provide insight into NSLDS.  We will discuss access, security, navigation, reporting, hot topics, how the new loan servicers are reflected and what to expect in the future.  We’ll also look at how the FSA Exit Counseling site is linked to NSLDS and what benefits that provides for both the school and the borrower.

Student Loan Cancellation and Discharge (July 24)

This session will allow attendees to understand the instances in which a borrower’s obligation to repay his or her student loan may be discharged.  It will also identify opportunities for borrowers to have all or a portion of their loan(s) cancelled through certain service related employment.  Additionally, resources for additional information and eligibility requirements and how/where to refer borrowers will be provided.
