It’s FAFSA season! The FAFSA is simpler than ever, taking, on average, only 23 minutes to complete. However, the Department of Education recently posted a blog article highlighting the seven things students need to know before filling out the FAFSA in case students need further assistance. Here’s a rundown of what they need:

  1. FSA PIN
  2. Social security number
  3. Driver’s license number
  4. Tax records
  5. Records of untaxed income
  6. Records of all their assets (money)
  7. List of schools they are interested in attending (if not already enrolled)

NOTE: Dependent students will need this information for their parents as well.

For more details, check out the original blog article (which includes a FAFSA overview video you can share with your students)!
