Recorded Webinar About the 2014-2015 FAFSA

January 22, 2014

basics

January not only brings the New Year, it brings FAFSA time! If you missed the FAFSA: Basics & Beyond Webinar Wednesday on January 8th, the recorded version is available for you to view at your leisure.

There are numerous changes to the 2014-2015 FAFSA, so be sure to take time to learn about them in order to better serve your students. The pre-application worksheet is available to order at www.fsapubs.gov. The questions are in the same order as the FAFSA on the Web (FOTW), and the first page contains the same information as the paper FAFSA.

As a reminder, students and parents are able to apply for and receive a “real-time” PIN through FAFSA on the Web (FOTW) or at www.pin.ed.gov. The PIN can be used immediately to sign the FAFSA. It becomes fully functional after the Social Security Administration (SSA) match is successful. This can be used for first-time PIN applicants, as well as a replacement PIN. The PIN should never be shared. However there is a data release number (DRN) that can be shared with the financial aid administrator (FAA).

For more details, attend the FAFSA: Basics & Beyond webinar or contact your Regional Director.
