Expanded Training Resources – Coming Soon!

February 14, 2014

As a financial aid professional, the concept of learning is a continuous journey. We know your time and resources are often limited, and you need to find ways to conveniently access reliable and timely information. With that in mind, we have expanded our training team in Partner Solutions to provide you with access to additional learning opportunities. We will continue to keep a focus on our Wednesday financial aid training series, while also expanding our opportunities to include new learning tracks on Tuesdays. The first track will focus on Default Prevention and Building Successful Students. View the schedule and register for the series here.

In addition, we’d like to introduce our new Learning Engineers, who have joined Ron Hancock and Dana Kelly. With their own unique backgrounds and expertise, these two will further enhance your learning experience.

April Hastings recently joined Nelnet’s Partner Solutions team as a Learning Engineer in January 2014. Together with the Partner Solutions Team, she will adhere to the incredible work her associates have created and contribute ideas to make Nelnet’s customer service to clients even more satisfying.

With a B.A. in Theatre Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she enjoys the platform training provides her and is enthusiastic about sharing knowledge with others. Having started in financial aid as a work-study student, it opened the door to the “Twilight Warp” of a fulfilling financial aid career for the past ten years in four-year and community college higher education institution settings. Her experience includes: Advisor, Outreach Specialist, One-Stop Shop Call Center Supervisor, Training Specialist, and Assoc. Director of Compliance and Training.  April spent four years as the Regional Trainer for the Texas Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators and was the Local Arrangements Committee Chair in 2012 for the Southwest Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.

When April is not emerging as a leader, she escapes to a good book, enjoys the outdoors with her husband, likes to play Bunco (a new found favorite), spends virtual time with her family & friends, and learns more about using essential oils as an alternative to health and wellness.
