Meet Our New Learning Engineers!
In an effort to keep you informed with all the latest federal student loan regulations, trends, and best practices, we’ve expanded our training opportunities. You can now attend trainings on both Tuesdays and Wednesdays! In addition, two new Learning Engineers have joined Ron Hancock and Dana Kelly. With their own unique backgrounds and expertise, these two will further enhance your learning experience.
April Hastings
April Hastings recently joined Nelnet’s Partner Solutions team as a Learning Engineer in January 2014. Together with the Partner Solutions Team, she will adhere to the incredible work her associates have created and contribute ideas to make Nelnet’s customer service to clients even more satisfying.
With a B.A. in Theatre Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she enjoys the platform training provides her and is enthusiastic about sharing knowledge with others. Having started in financial aid as a work-study student, it opened the door to the “Twilight Warp” of a fulfilling financial aid career for the past ten years in four-year and community college higher education institution settings. Her experience includes: Advisor, Outreach Specialist, One-Stop Shop Call Center Supervisor, Training Specialist, and Assoc. Director of Compliance and Training. April spent four years as the Regional Trainer for the Texas Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators and was the Local Arrangements Committee Chair in 2012 for the Southwest Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.
When April is not emerging as a leader, she escapes to a good book, enjoys the outdoors with her husband, likes to play Bunco (a new found favorite), spends virtual time with her family & friends, and learns more about using essential oils as an alternative to health and wellness.
Nycci Parsons

A champion of change, she has the proven ability to guide a team with execution intensity, consistency, quality and is now one of our Learning Engineers for Nelnet Partner Solutions.
She is well versed in leading, presenting, facilitating, creating, and evaluating training programs for various functions and departments within an organization.
Nycci has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and is a national member of the American Society of Training and Development. She has an enthusiasm for training, motivation to succeed, and dedication to getting the job done.
In her free time, she likes to do a lot of different things. Nycci LOVES to spend time with her family and friends. She likes to read, cook, and throw themed dinner parties. Giving back to the community is high on the list, so volunteering is a must.
