UPDATED Delinquent Borrower Communication Summary

emailNelnet reaches out to delinquent borrowers in a variety of ways to resolve delinquency, including phone calls, emails, social media, and text messages where applicable. As part of this plan, we have created emails that not only alert borrowers of being past due, but also explain how Nelnet can help in all stages of delinquency.

To help our colleagues in the financial aid office better understand our delinquent borrower outreach, we created a Delinquent Borrower Communication Summary. This document outlines Nelnet’s overall approach to resolving delinquency and provides examples of some emails we send to past-due borrowers. This document has been updated to reflect changes to our borrower email communications.

The Delinquent Borrower Communication Summary is available for download in our library and on our Borrower Services page.
