Seven Movie Quotes Financial Aid Administrators Can Relate To

October 21, 2015

Happy Financial Aid Appreciation Day!

Today is Financial Aid Appreciation Day; a day to recognize all of the incredible work you do to benefit schools, students, families, and servicers. To celebrate, we would like to treat all Financial Aid Administrators to a day at the movies. Alas, our attempts to find a single movie theater that spans the country failed miserably. Instead, we are offering seven movie quotes that we think Financial Aid Administrators can relate to.

“You control your destiny. You don’t need magic to do it. And there are no magical shortcuts to solving your problems.” – Merida

Magical shortcuts? Not in your office. Nonetheless, you continually handle difficult situations with poise.

The Empire Strikes Back

“Do, or do not. There is no ‘try.'” – Yoda

You work tirelessly every day to help make students’ educational dreams become reality. You don’t “try” to help. You make it happen, and that’s WITHOUT the force.

Jerry Maguirerugby-596747_640

“Help me help you.” – Jerry Maguire

You’re passionate about helping your students, and you work to make their lives better every day. In related territory, we really hope your students have never shouted “Show me the money!” your direction.

Groundhog Day

Phil: Do you ever have déjà vu, Mrs. Lancaster?

Mrs. Lancaster: I don’t think so, but I could check with the kitchen.

It may seem like you experience some situations day after day, but – rest assured – you’re making a difference in the life of every student you interact with.

“Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.” – Forrest Gump

New days bring new challenges. Some days the job may have you feeling like you would rather be out on a shrimping boat. Other days, you may be forced to react to new developments so quickly that you feel like a champion ping pong player. Whatever the case, you always remember that new days bring new opportunities.

Ghostbusters

“24 hours a day, seven days a week. No job is too big. No fee is too large.” – Peter Venkman

Long days and longer weeks are part of the job, but we know you are up for handling anything that comes your way. When something’s strange in your neighborhood (/financial aid office), who you gonna call? Yourself, obviously.

The Dark Knightjoker-28361_640

“Why so serious?” – The Joker

Your work is serious business, but you still know how to have fun.  Thanks for all that you do to support the financial aid community every day, and thanks for keeping things fun while you are doing it.
