Latest from FSA: Upcoming Change to Federal Student Aid Web Addresses

November 10, 2016

latestfromfsa

FSA recently announced upcoming changes to the URLs used to access their online systems and websites. To comply with the Office of Management and Budge’s federal memorandum that requires secure internet connections for all publicly accessible federal websites, FSA’s websites will make the following changes:

  • Any Federal Student Aid URL that begins with the “http” prefix will be updated to use the “https” prefix.
  • The “www” prefix will be removed from any Federal Student Aid URL that includes the “www” prefix.

As part of this transition, beginning Nov. 13, users who attempt to access these websites via unsupported browsers (Internet Explorer 8, 9, and 10) may have connectivity issues. Users who experience these problems may need to upgrade their browser to a supported version before continuing.

For more information on these changes, including the implementation schedule, please see FSA’s original announcement.
