Summer Update: Interest Rates, Resources, and NASFAA

July 11, 2017

If the 90-degree temperatures don’t tell the story, the calendar certainly does — we’re up to our ears in Summer. While we hope the summer brings some well-deserved rest and relaxation your way, we also know that it can be difficult to stay up to date with news and notes when away from the office. To help you catch up, here are three quick updates from the Nelnet team.

Check out the Updated Interest Rate Flyer

In case you missed it, as of July 1, FSA’s 2017-2018 Direct Loan interest rates are in effect. We have updated our interest rate chart to reflect these new rates, which apply to Direct Loans first disbursed between July 1, 2017 and June 30, 2018. Download the new chart today!

Spend Some Time in the Nelnet Library

Summer brings opportunities to soak up the sun, but many of those can have severe repercussions on one’s bank account. How can a student borrower stay fiscally responsible over the summer? We can help. Nelnet’s Library offers a downloadable Budget Strategies PDF and a Budgeting Worksheet. Both are available to help students stay on track with their finances throughout the year. Beyond these budget resources, the Nelnet Library offers a load or resources to help Financial Aid professionals and their student borrowers

Great Times at NASFAA

Thanks to our school partners and industry peers for making the 2017 NASFAA Conference fun and successful! We enjoyed connecting with friends and colleagues, both old and new, and sharing resources to help make your work lives easier. Just 348 days until NASFAA 2018!
